Sofia Anokhina
September 16, 1997 (Moscow, Russia).
Russian golfer

Sofia started playing golf at the age of 6, when her grandmother introduced her to the sport as a summer hobby while living in the city of Moscow. Sofia was not extremely excited about golf until she won her first junior golf event at the age of 12. Showing great performance with many ups&downs but definite determination and passion for the game she soon joined the Russian National Team at the age of 14.

She became the Number 1 Ranked Russian Amateur at the age of 16.

Sofia had to spend couple months a year living in warmer parts of Europe in order to escape indoor practices during severe Moscow winters. She was home-schooled during those times.

Sofia graduated from High School in 2015 and for the first time got an opportunity to practice on a green grass 365 days/ year when joined Northern Arizona University golf team in Fall 2015. After successful three years at NAU, breaking 5 school history records and tying for the most wins in one season (5), Sofia took a chance and transferred to Arizona State University. She had successfully finished her senior year strong being a part of the top 10 golf programs in the country. Sofia has earned a degree with honours from ASU W.P. Carey Business school in Management.

Her home course is Skolkovo Golf Club, Moscow, where she practices while back in her homeland.

Sofia became a member of the Symetra Tour in 2019.

She currently actively works in the golf industry being an Ambassador and General Manager of hater company of the new era “VIMHUE: Caps Engineered for Women”. Sofia is a strong believer and support of Female Movement in Golf.
