In 2023 he graduated from the Moscow State Academy of Choreography (the class of an Honored Artist of Russia, Associate Professor M. Sharkov). Performs on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia and the Educational Theater of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography.

In 2023 he joined the Bolshoi Ballet Company, where he rehearses under supervision of Alexander Vetrov. At the MGAKH gala concert at the Bolshoi Theater dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the Academy, he performed the leading role in the Pas d’axion from the ballet La Bayadere by L. Minkus (choreography by V. Chabukiani). Participated in the anniversary tours of MGAKH in Kemerovo, Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and Sochi.

Since childhood, he attended the children’s art school named after Sergei Diaghilev in Zelenograd.

In November 2017, he announced himself at the III International Competition for Young Performers of Classical, Folk Stage and Contemporary Choreography «Dance Moscow», receiving the second prize in the nomination “Classical Dance” for variations from “Harlequinade” and “Coppelia”.

In 2018, he won the second prize at the “Young Talents of Russia” and won the silver of the International Baltic Ballet Competition in Riga, performing the modern “Whims of the Body”.

In 2021, at the International Competition of Yuri Grigorovich “Young Ballet of the World”, held in Sochi, Makar became the gold winner in the junior group (under 19 y.o.) together with Sofia Maimula, performing “Blues +”.

At the beginning of 2022, he received the first prize of the year at Dance Moscow, and in the spring he won the anniversary All-Russian competition for young performers “Russian Ballet”.

In the summer of 2022, Mikhalkin won gold at the XIV International Ballet Competition in the category “Junior, solo” (under 18 y.o).
