Natalia Morozova was born in Moscow and began her piano studies at the age of six at the Rachmaninoff School. She attended the Tchaikovski State Conservatory with the pianist Tigran Alikhanov,himself a student of the great Russian pianist Lev Oborin. She pursued piano studies at the same conservatory with professors Victor Mergianov and Alexander Mdoyantz while studying chamber music with Tigran Alikhanov.
In 2001, she graduated with highest honors and went on to defend her doctoral dissertation in 2003 with similar excellent results.
Between 2003 and 2005 she took advanced courses at the Chamber Music International School of the Trio of Trieste in Duino, Italy.
International prizes:
- 1997 First Prize at the Nikolaj Rubinstein International Competition in Moscow;
- 1999 Absolute First Prize as soloist and Absolute First and Special Prizes for duo at the Tenth International Competition for Young Pianists “Rome 99” in Italy;
- First and Special Prizes at the Taneyev International Chamber Music Competition in Kaluga, Russia;
- 2001 First Prize at the Reding-Piette International Competition in Neufchatel, Switzerland for duo with Vitalj Younitskj
- 2001 Second Prize – no first prize was awarded – at the Provincia di Caltanissetta International Competition in Italy;
- 2002 First Prize at the Isole Borromee International Competition and First Prize for duo at the Camillo Togni International Competition in Gussago, Italy.
Natalia Morozova has honed her skills by playing both as a soloist and with orchestras across Europe. She has recently produced recordings with the Basel Sinfonietta, the Ekaterinburg Philharmonic, the Moscow Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Vladimir Ziva and Marcello Mottadelli, and the Moscow Soloists under the direction of Yuri Bashmet.
She has performed in many recitals as soloist and as part of chamber music ensembles in Russia (Moscow, Archangel, Viatka, Kaluga and Yekaterinburg), Switzerland (in Geneva for Radio Suisse Romande, Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds, Newyear Music Festival in Gstaad) and Italy (Annibale di Francia Theatre, Messina; Giuseppe Verdi Theatre, Trieste; Savoia Theatre, Campobasso; Puccini Theatre, Merano; and the Alfieri Theatre, Turin). In Italy she has given concerts as part of various music festivals, including Bari, Sulmona, Monopoli, Savona, Pieve di Cadore, Venice, and Verona.
She has performed in the Cappella Paolina of the Quirinal Palace in Rome for Rai 3 television; Tsubasio Theatre in Spello as part of the Umbriamusicfest; Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria; Chelsea Arts Club in London; Slovenia; Croatia, Lettonia, Bulgary, and many French musical venues, including Sorèze, Castle-Abbey of Cassan, Bardou, Château de Padiès, Moulin d’ Ande, and the Festival Mélomania in Paris, Le Festival de Musique de Richelieu, Z’estivales – MoZ’aïque (Festivals d’été du Havre)
Since 2010 Natalia Morozova has been a member of the scientific committee of the international “Primavera Musicale” project at the Discanto Academy of Arts in Verona, Italy, where she conducts a master class. Sought out as piano accompanist for her sensitivity and great skill in working with singers, she was selected to be part of the International Music Tournament (TIM) taking place in Europe.
Since 2012 is part of the jury of the international competition “UmbriaMusicFest”, Italy.
